YBK: We pushed back Unit 2 test until after Labor Day; newbies are working on eDesign lessons (all 8 are due on Friday). Oldies are working on DPS.
10th Honors: Students printed off their summer reading essays in class (the ones we wrote on Monday/Tuesday). We began reading Oedipus Rex. We discussed the following topics in conjunction with reading / studying the play: regicide, The Great Chain of Being, en medias res, textual evidence (Is Oedipus an effective / caring / good leader?). 9th Honors: We began reading Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game” (http://www.dukeofdefinition.com/dangerous_game.pdf). We took notes / answer questions about the elements of short story (via worksheet). HOMEWORK: Review what we read in class today (through the part where Rainsford and Zaroff are at dinner, gold cigarette case appears).
