Sorry for skipping yesterday’s post — it was PSAT day, and we only went to 7th/8th periods.

Brit Lit: We watched to about 1:30 mins of Macbeth, which included the witches’ scene from Act IV (“Double, double toil and trouble”). We discussed somnambulism, epilepsy, and other infirmities in real life and what they symbolize in literature. Fun talk!

YBK: We need to finish corrections on mugs and flow 9, 10, 11, & faculty. Clubs & sports are working on their layouts. We need to plan CLUB PICTURES day (oy vey).

Monday, October 28, 2019

Brit Lit: We will begin watching Macbeth (Roman Polanski version) today due to the shortened period (advisement) and the upcoming PSAT on Wednesday. We’ll watch this week, finish reading Acts IV and V, review, test, and then write all before Thanksgiving.

YBK:  Test today over the terms. Working on deadlines, etc.

Friday, October 25, 2019

Brit Lit: We will finish reading all of Act III today in the book (starting with scene ii). We are taking notes for quotes / ideas for the literary analysis paper (coming up week of November 11).

Yearbook: Deadlines, pictures, etc.

Thursday, October 24, 2019

Brit Lit: We will begin reading ACT III of Macbeth today (begins on page 361). While we’re reading, we will write down KEY QUOTES from each scene of Act III to determine if Macbeth’s descent into evil is one he had complete autonomy over (or was it cosmic irony)?  Not here? You’ll miss fruitful discussion, so make sure to get notes from a friend.

YBK: Working on pages. Will review how to write effective body copy.

Tuesday/Wednesday, October 22-23, 2019

Tuesday — Odd Block Day (1, 3, 5, 7); Wednesday — Even Block Day (2, 4, 6, 8)

Brit Lit: We will take a reading check quiz over Act II of Macbeth. Students then read pages 308 – 320 and write 25 questions over this content and answer them. Turn in.

YBK: We will continue working on pages / deadlines 🙂
